Nuno Marques was graduated in Medicine from the University of Coimbra in 2002 and obtained his specialty in infectious diseases in 2010. He is the director of the infectious diseases service at the Hospital Garcia de Orta, E.P.E. in Almada since March 2016. Previously, he worked at the Infectious Diseases Department of the Coimbra Hospital and University Centre. His main areas of interest are HIV-infection, viral hepatitis, Tropical and Travel Medicine.

He obtained a PhD in Tropical Medicine at The Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, New University of Lisbon and has been working on research projects on arbovirosis in Angola.

He has work experience in resource-limited settings in Africa (Mozambique, Cape Verde, Angola) and in the Amazon (Brazil).

He has published in national and international journals.
